“Our fabrics are comprised of jacquard swim fabrics from heritage mills in France, as well as lustrous euro-jersey fabric made in Italy.”
What makes an Amaiò Official piece?
Being a luxury resort wear company, our pieces are made specifically to make women feel and look their best while combating climate change. Unlike other resort wear brands, we ensure that each one of our styles is made with sustainable elements, as to not add any more disruption to our planet. Our fabrics are comprised of jacquard swim fabrics from heritage mills in France, as well as lustrous euro-jersey fabric made in Italy. Essentially, this means that our pieces require less nylon and plastic during production, resulting in a lower carbon footprint while maintaining the highest quality.
What is the difference between Amaiò Official and other resort wear brands?
What sets Amaiò Official apart from other resort wear is the fabrics that we use. Fabrics that are comprised of synthetic textiles like nylon, polyester, and spandex are what other brands use to wick moister away from the body. However, the issue with these fabrics is that they are a primary source of the plastics that end up in our ocean. What makes these fabrics so problematic is that when are washed, they release small amounts of microfibers. These microfibers go down the drains of washing machines, into the ocean, are often eaten by fish, and ultimately make their way into our food chain. The reason these troublesome textiles are still used today are because they are fast, cheap and easy. These low standards are the exact opposite of the Amaiò way, and we refuse to be a part of the problem. Being an eco-friendly brand means going against the grain and providing a solution by using materials that will guarantee the earth’s sustainability.
How does Amaiò continue to create luxury items?
Rather than selling high-priced styles that cost little-to-nothing to make due to unfair wages and poor working conditions, we pride ourselves on our beautiful Los Angeles facilities. Here, we are able to provide our fashion team with fair wages and treatment, thus resulting in high-end craftsmanship. To us, quality is defined as silk taffeta and tulle styles, meaning that the beauty that we create takes time and care. Rather than fast fashion, we want to provide our loyal customers with something that will last them a lifetime.
